i think new people are entering my life and their purpose is to distract me from the past relationships i have with other people so that i wouldnt get too hung up over what was once and what wouldnt be. the problem is, while these new people are making me happy and enthusiastic about things again, im afraid i'll get too attached that when it's time to go, and vicious cycle repeats and i would need another set of people to detach me from these people.
work has been busy this week, but i kinda enjoy it. i think it's the satisfaction of accomplishing something or even doing something and earning money. people-wise, my boss and department people are generally nice and patient, though we don't really talk. some people from other departments look intimidating// atas but some are pretty friendly and one is quite cute, right yinhui? there is office politics but i try to stay clear of it.
i like walking around the big building when i show the contractors around haha. i wish i can do it more often, though in the end it is really tiring. yesterday and the day before, i brought 2 contractors around to measure window blinds, in the end, each trip took about 3h. walking here and there, up stairs and passages only accessible to employees. visiting various departments and checking people out hahah. i prefer going to the service centre// warehouse because the people there are less tensed and more chirpy, you know, the atmosphere isnt so.. cold. haha oh and about my company, there aren't anyone my age, i think the youngest is probably in the late 20s? many 30s, 40s and even 50s if i erm judge correctly. im really bad at this. usually im guided by the receptionist who's in her 50s and shes very motherly haha and naggy, in a good way. and though she is just a recep, shes pretty bigshot because shes been with the company for eons and she chose to just do recep b/c of family commitments i think.
met the crescent gang for dinner yesterday. it was nice catching up. pet brought her boyfriend who just came out from army. we ate at hot tomato and then icecream at sota. it was relaxing and in fact come to think about it, all of us were present. what a feat hahah~ too bad we left pretty early because we were tired// have curfew. i forgot to bring my camera sighzzz. i think there is another crescent class beach thing next week.
just baked cookies. actually it was my sister's idea. she wanted to bake belated valentine's day cookies for her friends but she ended up not baking at all because it was "time to talk to my friends" -_- and from the kitchen i could hear her chatting so damn long with her friend on the phone tsk. anyway the cookies are small and cute heheh.
oh yea, watched Blue Valentine last night. it's about a couple's marriage crumbling slowly because of their different expectations of & from each other, with shots of their courtship days weaved into the movie. aside from the ample sex, swearing and occasional nudity, i think the show was pretty good and raw. strong emotions, subtle message and ryan gosling.
what struck me most was the last part towards the end, at the stage they were arguing harshly; it seemed alittle... too familiar.
after the show ended, i felt a little sad and scared. how two people can easily fall so in love, overlook each other's flaws, make a promise during their marriage to be there for each other "for better or worse", yet when the bad comes, people just snap, and all the hating and they just, leave. i think it's a very depressing film, so dont watch it if you are hoping for a happy ending.
